CUSTOMER IMPACT STATEMENT
Europe Card Services is extending the First Line of Defence risk framework to include a dedicated position in Carrick-on-Shannon to lead and manage business risk and control activities for Ireland & UK Card Services operations based in Ireland sites. This new and important position reports to the Risk Administration Manager within the Business Operations Centre of Excellence and will be supported by established teams in Chester. Responsibilities include risk assessment, management and coordination of Card issues within the Ireland region, ownership for the Ireland Card Business Continuity framework and recovery capability, Supplier risk management, and Information Security controls. The position will work closely with all business divisions, support partners as well as Compliance and Operational Risk Management (CORM) and Corporate Audit to identify and manage risk effectively and will become the focal point for risk activities within the Ireland Card business.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to senior management to extend risk management routines and provide assurance regarding control effectiveness within the Ireland business.
- Provide central oversight, coordination and management for all Ireland Card audit issues, risk acceptance and emerging risks, including root cause and trend analysis to report key themes to senior management. Establish oversight of risks and issues that transcends the organisational matrix and includes corporate support partners to provide senior management with a complete picture on risk.
- Leadership and accountability for the Ireland Card disaster recovery capability and operate an integrated Business Continuity framework that aligns with ECS strategy and best supports Ireland Card operations. Provide incident support as required to support Ireland operations and ensure continuous service.
- Establish effective governance routines and a control framework over Ireland Card supplier relationships to support business divisions, manage supplier risk, provide strategic direction and realise cost saving / efficiency benefits where possible.
- Support the ECS Information Protection team to ensure that Ireland Card is linked in with ECS strategy and deploy controls consistently to safeguard information security.
- Support the completion of the quarterly ECS Line of Business Self Assessment (LOBSA) to ensure an accurate risk assessment for Ireland Card..
- Partner with CORM to extend the effectiveness of the ECS Internal Control Committee and related governance routines, transition governance model responsibility to the first line responsibility.
- Extend ECS routines and control frameworks with Global Card teams to ensure successful partnership within the Card division.
- Establish effective risk based reporting within the bank to support and enhance governance routines with key risk indicators and maturity models.
- Support annual schedule of ECS regulatory engagement and CORM / Audit reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Financial Services experience.
- Proven track record of high performance.
- Excellent verbal communication & relationship management skills.
- Experience establishing / leading management meetings / frameworks and routines to coordinate activities across business divisions and complex organisational structures.
- Project management experience and ability to manage multiple streams of work.
- Understanding of process analysis, risk assessment and strong control focus.
- Experienced with BOA Supplier Management program and supplier risk.
- Knowledge of Information Security and Business Continuity risks and controls.
- Proactive approach, able to work under own initiative, and flexibility to meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Risk Management, Compliance and/or Audit experience.
- Industry qualifications relating to Operational Risk / Supplier Management / Information Security.
