ZURICH – Senior Compliance Assistant: Location - Dublin (Blackrock) [REF: ZURICH-CJ-022]
Applications are invited for the following vacancy. The successful candidate will work in the Compliance Department based in Blackrock, Co Dublin.
Reporting to the Compliance Officer the successful candidate will be responsible for the overseeing of business in various cross border markets to ensure that they meet the requirements as set out by the relevant regulatory bodies.
Role Definition: The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
- To ensure that Zurich Life Assurance has given notification to the Irish Regulator of its intention to sell into EEA proposed territories on an FOE/FOS basis. Obtain most recent common good requirements for each territory.
- Compliance input required in each territory, to input generally on local requirements, known as 'general good'.
- Develop and implement sampling processes for proposed countries e.g agent vetting, partial /early surrenders, risk based aml, complaints etc.
- To understand local aml and irish aml requirements. Advise the business of the requirements. Develop a detailed aml handbook for the proposed territory with a risk based approach.
- Understand how Intermediaries are regulated within the proposed territory. Implement a vetting process and pass to Agency dept. Implement a sample process on vetting.
- Review and sign off all documentation/training material/websites/ literature including applications, output letters, terms and conditions to ensure that the literature/application etc meets the code of conduct requirements in the relevant state.
- Identify relevant complaints regime and implement sampling process.
- Identify code of conduct rules and include in agency agreements/ops processes etc.
- Business advise - Inform business of changes in aml law, answer queries from business etc.
- Receive advice from Business – reporting actual incidents, advising of potential incidents, identifying gaps if come across any etc.
- Ensure legally required AML training and refresher training is conducted and recorded in line with procedures.
- Ensuring any issues/breaches that are identified by monitoring or on advice from business are remediated effectively and immediately. Incidents to be reported at Compliance Officer.
- To ensure the company’s cross-border compliance monitoring is effective and kept up to date.
- To ensure that compliance reports are compiled in a timely and efficient manner for management.
- To ensure issues identified during monitoring are rectified.
- To develop compliance monitoring and reporting on any new cross-border business that may arise.
- To develop procedures and to provide support to the Compliance Officer with monitoring and overseeing that will be required for cross border business.
Technical Competencies:
- At least 3 years experience in a Compliance role, specifically within insurance or financial services industry.
• Recognised industry qualification, ACOI or making significant progress towards this qualification.
• Thorough knowledge of Pension, Investment and Life Insurance Products
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
• Ability to speak a secondEuropean language and have previous exposure to foreign markets would be an advantage.

- Enthusiastic for and capable of taking responsibility.
- Accurate, with goodattention to detail.
- Excellent decision making ability.
- Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and work to critical deadlines
